  - It is a buzz-kill that we resist innovation by placing the burden of proof on novel ideas.
  - We bias ourselves toward accepted doctrine by forcing new ideas to prove that they are better than old ones.
- Starboard:
  - But, if new ideas were always accepted unless we could find a flaw in them we might spend all our time endlessly cycling through equivalent ideas.
- Port:
  - Dude, you just buzz-killed my buzz-kill.
