  - "Hey, let's name it MerryLand so children think everyone here is happy and that we use candy canes for light posts"
- Other Person Who Named Maryland:
  - "But, we don't want to trick our children..."
- Person Who Named Maryland:
  - "We'll pronounce it differently."

  - But, it got screwed up! The trick now only works until the kids learn to spell.
