  - According to this naming convention atheists should be “---ists.”
  - I wonder who first got tired of calling themselves an “---ist” and came up with the therm “atheist”?

Acording the -ist convention, followers of Christ should be called Christists. Acording the -ans convention, followers of Budha should be called Buddhans
